Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged

Ayn Rand began writing The Strike on January 1 1945, about a year after the publication of The Fountainhead. She renamed her manuscript to Atlas Shrugged after a suggestion by her husband in 1956. The theme is “what happens to the world when the Prime Movers go on strike.”
